2026-2027 Tuition & Fees Introduction
Tuition for the 2026-2027 school year is $36,200. We have a robust financial aid program that is both need- and merit-based for students who qualify. Regular tuition fees go towards the daily operations of the school and the running of our regular programs, including most (but not all) of our slate of *electives each trimester. Additionally, tuition covers classroom materials, textbooks, literature, and yearbooks that your child will receive over the year. Graduation fees, transcripts, student IDs, and subscriptions to digital learning platforms needed for regular classes are also covered by tuition.
There are additional fees for our Outdoors Program, Synthesis Week, and certain electives.
*Electives that include an additional fee are optional as part of our slate of choices in any given trimester.
Outdoor Expeditions Fees: $1800 (option to pay in full at the beginning of the school year or in a payment plan over ten installments)
Our Outdoor Expeditions Include:
Orientation Overnight (one night of camping locally at the beginning of the school year)
Fall Expedition (4 nights and 5 days of activities and camping in October)
End-of-Year Expedition (one week of travel and camping in May)
Students’ participation in Anacapa’s Outdoors Program is mandatory as part of our educational program – our expeditions count towards our instructional minutes for each school year. These are much more than educational field trips, and they go far beyond having a “fun time." These multi-day journeys are where the profound, defining connections of youth are forged—to the land, to stories, to the school’s ethos, and to the deeper self. Out on the quest, students build unexpected alliances and discover the backing of the collective while encountering and pushing past their personal boundaries. Synthesis Week: Four Days in January – “Choose your own Adventure” $125 (upfront charge prior to Synthesis Week)
Students’ participation in Synthesis Week is also mandatory and counts towards our instructional minutes for each school year.

Electives: Variable Fees (upfront charge when you sign your student up for the elective)
Anacapa offers a wide range of electives, some of which are run by our school staff and some that are run by external members, organizations, and businesses within the Santa Barbara community. Certain electives have an additional fee per trimester in order to be able to run. Each trimester runs approximately 10 weeks. These fees include:
Acoustic Guitar - $100 per trimester
Fishing - $50 per trimester
MMA - $300 per trimester
Robotics - $200 per trimester
Rock climbing w/ The Pad - $150 per trimester
Sewing & Embroidery - $200 per trimester
Surfing w/ Surf Happens - $700 per trimester
Tennis - $50 per trimester
Woodworking - $400 per trimester
Yoga - $100 per trimester
Due to Anacapa School needing to commit itself financially for the full school year – including faculty, staff and facilities costs – when a student is enrolled at Anacapa their parent or guardian is obligated to pay the agreed-upon tuition & fees costs for the full year, regardless of whether the student is dismissed or has to withdraw during the school year.
