ADMISSIONS
WELCOME
Thank you for your interest in Anacapa School. We are excited to announce that for the 2026–2027 school year, Anacapa will be adding a sixth grade. Due to strong interest from the Santa Barbara community, we are expanding our middle school program and anticipate a robust, engaging year ahead. Our approach to education nurtures the whole child through social and emotional development, experiential and project-based learning, and outdoor and travel experiences, all within a close-knit community grounded in kindness, gratitude, and good citizenship.
At Anacapa, learning starts with community. This year we introduced a redesigned interdisciplinary middle school program along with an expanded outdoor education component focused on marine and coastal studies. Our small student-to-teacher ratio supports meaningful relationships between students and educators, ensuring personalized attention, collaboration, and room for each student to grow.
Experiential learning is at the heart of our philosophy. Students engage in hands-on, project-based work that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, while school trips, Wednesday activities, synthesis, and community service deepen their understanding of the world around them. Our tailored curriculum allows students to pursue individual interests and develop both confidence and curiosity.
Located in downtown Santa Barbara, Anacapa inspires creative and critical thinkers who engage with the city’s rich art, culture, and civic organizations. We invite you to visit the school, meet our remarkable students and dedicated faculty, and see learning in action. We look forward to welcoming you to the Anacapa family.
Anacapa offers year-round rolling admissions. Once your application is completed and submitted, you can expect a decision within two weeks. We are committed to making an Anacapa education accessible and offer financial and merit-based financial assistance to families.
