Music Video

New Music Video Release: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

by Anacapa’s Rock Band, Monster

We’re excited to share the newly released music video featuring Anacapa’s very own rock band, Monster, performing a powerful rendition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

This video was filmed and produced by students Orion and Liam as part of the Yearbook elective. A special thank you goes to Liam for his exceptional dedication, he continued editing and refining the video outside of school hours to bring it to the next level.

Arts on Parade

Great job to our incredible Arts on Parade students! Last Wednesday’s Arts on Parade was a celebration of 10 weeks of creativity and hard work. From science experiments and art projects to delicious treats representing Spanish-speaking countries, the night was full of talent and energy. Anacapa’s very own Rock Band brought the house down with six amazing songs performed live!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event!

Anacapa Students Shine at I Madonnari Chalk Festival!

This past weekend, our talented Anacapa students came together to create a stunning 4x6’ chalk masterpiece at Santa Barbara’s renowned I Madonnari festival. Their artwork, titled "Roots and Wings," is a beautiful testament to creativity, collaboration, and school spirit.

There’s still time to see it in person! Head over to the Santa Barbara Mission and see their incredible work firsthand.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Brian and all the students whose teamwork and artistry made this project such a resounding success!

MOXI's Summer Volunteering Opportunities

• Two volunteer programs this summer:

  1. A traditional summer camp counselor in training role - more information here

  2. A brand new opportunity for students to volunteer in the makerspace, The Innovation Workshop, while working on their own creative pursuits that will ultimately be on display at MOXI after the summer is over.

• The deadline to apply for both programs is May 2. 

Parks Volunteer Program

• Volunteer days at Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden

• Volunteer events take place:

  • Wednesdays from 9 AM – 12 PM (not available for our students as we have academic classes during this time)

  • First Saturdays of each month, 9 AM – 12 PM

• These events are hands-on, community-centered, and an excellent fit for students seeking community service hours and environmental engagement.

• The QR code on the flyer links the website that lists calendar dates when the upcoming volunteer events are, and any information students might need for volunteering.

• There is no formal sign-up process. Emails are normally how people inform them they are coming to volunteer. Drop-ins are also welcome, which many folks do just show up. The email to inform them you are volunteering is on the flyer.
