The yearbook personal page is a special section where Anacapa students and staff can showcase their interests and share a little about themselves in the yearbook. This year, the personal page submission deadline is April 18th.
Here are the guidelines for submissions: All content must be school-appropriate. You must include at least your name (e.g., Steve). If your personal page is not submitted by the deadline, and we may contact parents for potentially silly pictures of you. Half-page size (8.5" x 5.5") for staff and 7th-11th graders. Full-page size (8.5" x 11") for seniors.
Please email your personal pages to Sawyer or Mr. Brian. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Sawyer, Mr. Brian, or the Yearbook Elective. |

Portraits of Survival: Life Journeys During the Holocaust and Beyond |
|
Last Wednesday, we visited the Jewish Federation’s Portraits of Survival exhibit. We heard a moving account from the great-grandchild of a Polish Holocaust survivor, followed by an AI question and answer experience with Erika Kahn, a survivor from Berlin, who celebrated her 100th birthday at the Federation on Saturday.
This past Monday, we returned to hear George Rusznak, a survivor from Hungary, share his first-person story of survival. These powerful experiences deepened our understanding of history and the strength of those who lived through it. We are grateful to the Jewish Federation for preserving these stories and sharing them with us. |

Student Feedback on Culture and Programming at Anacapa!
Reflecting on recent student feedback from the school culture questionnaire administered a few weeks ago has provided us with valuable insights into our Anacapa School community. Students expressed a strong sense of belonging and appreciation for the supportive relationships they experience with staff, teachers and peers. They emphasized the significance of personalized attention and feeling their voices genuinely influence the school environment.
However, students also suggested improvements in communication clarity and recommended more opportunities for active participation in school decision-making. Feedback also highlighted a desire for increased student leadership roles and greater autonomy in shaping their learning experiences. Additionally, students expressed interest in expanded programming options, including more elective courses, extracurricular activities, and experiential learning opportunities to further enrich their educational experience.
Overall, this recent feedback reaffirms our school's strengths in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment while highlighting areas where we can enhance student involvement, clarity in communication, and diverse programming. Continuing to address these suggestions will strengthen our supportive and collaborative school culture at Anacapa.
