Giddy-Up Gala 2025:
A Celebration of Community and Generosity
Anacapa School’s annual Giddy-Up Gala, held April 26th at the Alhecama Theatre, was a spirited evening filled with Western charm, music, dancing, and deep community connection. Kicking off with a special Alumni Happy Hour, the event welcomed alumni, families, and faculty for a night of nostalgia and celebration.
Guests enjoyed lively music by Beau Red, delicious food from Little Dom’s, and energetic line dancing led by Kickin Country SB. Head of School Mari Talkin shared Anacapa’s commitment to its four educational pillars—academics, community, arts and movement, and outdoors/travel—highlighting last year’s immersive Costa Rica trip as a prime example of their mission in action.
The evening featured a live auction, raffle, and paddle raise, all contributing to a successful fundraiser that exceeded expectations. As Assistant Head Jacob Pepper noted, “It really felt like a celebration of our community.”
The event was a joyful reflection of Anacapa’s values and future, made possible by the dedicated Gala Parent Committee: Lisa Smythe, Audrey Anderson, Emily Radtke, Julie Anderson, and Jolie Kocmur.
