| | | The yearbook personal page is a special section where Anacapa students and staff can showcase their interests and share a little about themselves in the yearbook. This year, the personal page submission deadline is April 18th.
Here are the guidelines for submissions: All content must be school-appropriate. You must include at least your name (e.g., Steve). If your personal page is not submitted by the deadline, and we may contact parents for potentially silly pictures of you. Half-page size (8.5" x 5.5") for staff and 7th-11th graders. Full-page size (8.5" x 11") for seniors.
Please email your personal pages to Sawyer or Mr. Brian. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Sawyer, Mr. Brian, or the Yearbook Elective. |

| | | | | | | | | At Anacapa, we believe in treating everyone with dignity, including ourselves, always doing our best, and fostering a culture of connection and collaboration. This week, we’re thrilled to highlight a student who truly embodies the spirit of Anacapa. Agnes’ kindness and curiosity are a powerful force within our school, fostering meaningful connections and making a lasting impact on our community.
Read below to see what Anacapa’s faculty has to say about this week’s remarkable student! |
| | | Agnes truly embodies Anacapa’s mission of fostering an inclusive and supportive community through her kindness and thoughtful interactions with her peers. She also reflects our values of personal growth and intellectual curiosity, eagerly engaging with class assignments and projects. In class, Agnes enriches discussions by sharing her insights. As a teacher, I admire her perseverance. Agnes actively advocates for herself and continues asking questions until she fully grasps even the most challenging material. - Brian Lunardi, Science Teacher |
| In art (drawing/painting elective) class, Agnes eagerly took on the challenge of creating a still life drawing with 3 different types of shading, texture, and utensils. Her effort and ability to do this were impressive. - Brian Downie, Art Teacher |
| Agnes is so awesome in the way she navigates each day at Anacapa. She always goes out of her way to greet people, brings a positive energy, and genuinely cares about those around her. She’s a strong advocate for important causes and makes a real impact in our community with her will and voice. Agnes is kind, respectful, and an all-around great communicator who gets along with everyone. She’s adaptable and confident, whether she’s going with the flow or standing her ground, she does it with grace. She’s truly a standout student of the week! - Jacob Pepper, Dean of Students |
| Brave- speaks her mind Inclusive- willing to talk with anyone Curious- learning for learnings sake -Elyse Grossman, English Teacher |
| Agnes's knack for language learning is really apparent in the questions she asks in class, and in her ability to quickly grasp new concepts. I really enjoy when she speaks Spanish with me outside of class. - Diego Villarreal, Spanish Teacher |

| | | | | | | | | | | | | Finishing the School Year Strong: The Final Push After Spring Break
Spring break is a much-needed pause, a time to reset before the final stretch of the school year. But as we return, the challenge begins—staying focused and motivated as we push toward finals, now just nine weeks away. This period can feel long and demanding, with assignments, projects, and exams piling up. It’s easy to feel like progress is slow or even nonexistent. However, just because you may not see immediate growth doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
Think of academics like fishing—sometimes, the biggest catch happens when you least expect it. Every class discussion, every problem solved, and every assignment completed builds skills and knowledge, even if the results aren’t obvious right away. Just as a fisherman trusts the process, students must do the same. Consistency, effort, and patience will lead to success.
Now is the time to lean into your study habits, set small goals, and stay engaged. Avoid the temptation to coast through these final weeks—this is when true learning solidifies. Teachers, friends, and mentors are here to support you, but your commitment to finishing strong is what truly makes the difference.
The end of the school year is closer than it seems, and the work you put in now will shape your success. Trust that your efforts are making an impact, even if you don’t see immediate results. Stay focused, keep pushing, and finish the year strong!
