Anacapa School’s Giddy-Up Gala on April 26 brought the community together for an unforgettable evening of Western fun, music, and heartfelt giving. From a nostalgic Alumni Happy Hour to live music, dancing, and a paddle raise, the event was a lively celebration of Anacapa’s mission and values. With strong support and generous donations, the gala exceeded expectations and reaffirmed the school’s vibrant spirit.

This January, Anacapa School launches Synthesis 2025, a hands-on program where students explore topics like environmental science, arts, and cultural studies through immersive, real-world activities. After three days off-campus, students will prepare presentations linking their experiences to personal insights, culminating in a Friday showcase.

This year, however, dean of students Jacob Pepper thought out-of-the-country.

“Anacapa is known for its school trips, but to put together something that has multiple modes of travel, including international flights, and with all the unknowns of being in another country, making the commitment to take our students to Costa Rica was an out-of-the-box approach to experiential learning,” he said.

In a heartwarming and educational activity, Anacapa School students partnered with blind and low-vision participants for an surrey bike ride along the Santa Barbara waterfront.

Anacapa School was delighted to welcome back renowned professional surfer Shaun Tomson last Thursday for an inspiring and motivating presentation. Tomson, celebrated for his achievements in the world of professional surfing, returned to his roots to share his passion for life and self-discovery through his empowering program, The Code Method.
