What an incredible evening!

We’re thrilled to announce that we met, and exceeded our fundraising goal at the Giddy-Up Gala! We couldn’t have done it without you.

A special thank you to all of our generous sponsors and our incredible Gala Committee - Audrey, Emily, Lisa, Jolie, and Julie - whose hard work and dedication made the event truly shine.

We’d also like to thank the incredible student volunteers who helped make the gala a success: Ines, Ella, Julian, Arlo, Thomas, Owen, and Orion. Your support and effort were deeply appreciated!

And a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make the night such a resounding success. Thanks to our amazing Anacapa community, it was not only a memorable evening filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit, but also a true celebration of our shared vision for the school.

Whether you joined us on the dance floor, donated, volunteered, or supported us before the event, your involvement meant the world. The energy, generosity, and joy in the room were truly inspiring.

We couldn’t have done it without you—and we wouldn’t have wanted to.

Stay tuned for more photos and highlights coming soon!

Rooted in Resilience: Celebrating Spring Growth at Anacapa

Springtime at Anacapa is a season full of contrast—one that brings both academic pressure and meaningful reflection. With finals just around the corner, it’s easy to feel the weight of expectations, deadlines, and the push to finish strong. But spring is also a time to pause and look back at how far we’ve come.

This school year has been filled with both challenges and breakthroughs. From daily efforts in the classroom to personal obstacles outside of it, students have shown incredible resilience. Each small win and major hurdle has played a role in shaping the confidence and character we see today. Growth doesn’t always come with a big moment, it’s often found in steady effort, honest conversations, and simply showing up.

As faculty and staff, we’ve seen remarkable transformation in our students, academically, socially, and emotionally. Their ability to adapt, reflect, and rise is a true reflection of the kind of learners and people they’re becoming. With exciting events and celebrations still ahead, we’re proud of the journey so far and energized by what’s to come. Let’s finish the year strong, holding onto the momentum, growth, and community that make Anacapa such a special place to learn and grow.

MOXI's Summer Volunteering Opportunities

  • Two volunteer programs this summer:

    2. A brand new opportunity for students to volunteer in the makerspace, The Innovation Workshop, while working on their own creative pursuits that will ultimately be on display at MOXI after the summer is over.

  • Click HERE for more information or email Kristen: kristen.denton@moxi.org

  • The deadline to apply for both programs is May 2.

Parks Volunteer Program

  • Volunteer days at Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden

  • Volunteer events take place:

    • Wednesdays from 9 AM – 12 PM (not available for our students as we have academic classes during this time)

    • First Saturdays of each month, 9 AM – 12 PM

  • These events are hands-on, community-centered, and an excellent fit for students seeking community service hours and environmental engagement.

  • The QR code on the flyer links the website that lists calendar dates when the upcoming volunteer events are, and any information students might need for volunteering.

  • There is no formal sign-up process. Emails are normally how people inform them they are coming to volunteer. Drop-ins are also welcome, which many folks do just show up. The email to inform them you are volunteering is on the flyer.
