Anacapa Difference

Anacapa School is an independent, co-educational school for grades 7 through 12. Anacapa empowers students to excel in critical thinking, creativity, integrity and compassion through academic and experiential learning in a close-knit, diverse community. The school maintains high expectations for personal and academic integrity. The Anacapa approach fosters intelligent and complex discourse between students and their faculty. The learning environment is designed to optimize independent thinkers working together inside and outside of the classroom.

Our Principles

The Anacapa Difference is rooted in three simple principles that guide students, faculty and staff in all of our interactions, both on campus and in our broader communities:

  1. We treat everyone with dignity, including ourselves.

  2. We always do our best.

  3. We believe in a culture of connectedness and collaboration.

Anacapa’s principles live in all we do as a community. They guide classroom discussions, one-on-one student and faculty meetings, casual time in the courtyard, and in our experiences in the larger world, both as a school community and as individuals.
