From the Head of School
Dear Friend of Anacapa,
This has been a remarkable year for The Anacapa School! We are in the midst of a historic, transformative transition. This July, I accepted the leadership mantle from Gordon Sichi, our founding headmaster. Gordon and Suzie have built a remarkable institution. I have witnessed their vision firsthand, as my daughter is currently enrolled at Anacapa. I have marveled at the attention and responsiveness of our close-knit community in supporting each student’s academic and social growth.
Some of my experience includes teaching as a professor at Harvard Business School and at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern, about the resilience, imagination and commitment that accompany most any successful endeavor. I have also founded and successfully grown entrepreneurial ventures. I am honored to use my experiences to enhance and expand the Sichis’ vision into the future.
While honoring our Anacapa roots, and preserving the magic of Anacapa, I am also excited to expand our entrepreneurial spirit, renew our commitment to differentiation, celebrate our community of compassion, and increase our voice and presence across Santa Barbara. We are uniquely positioned to teach, demonstrate and enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship that fuels our civic, artistic, and economic landscape here in Santa Barbara and beyond.
I am excited to embark upon this next chapter of the Anacapa Story. It’s going to be a great one!
