Ceramics:
In this class, students learn the techniques of hand building, pinch pots, and
sculpture. Students also learn to decorate and glaze their pieces. In addition,
students may choose to learn the basic skills of throwing pots on a wheel. We
have our own kiln and wheel on campus.
Making The Anacapa School Mural
Anacapa ceramics students
created this delightful mural with their teacher, and
presented their surprise gift to the school at the 2001 Anacapa School
auction. The class began working on the mural in the fall and completed
it just in time for the March auction. Some of this process is captured
in the images below.
