Alumni Reunions Lead Up to 20th Anniversary Celebration

We hosted three successful alumni barbecues on campus last year as a warm-up to our 20th anniversary celebration. It was wonderful to welcome so many former students back to Anacapa.
Years 1981-1986:  On the afternoon of October 21, 2001, founding alumni renewed old friendships, toured the campus with current student ambassadors, reminisced, and enjoyed a running slide show of 1981-1986 highlights.  What a great group of pioneering students they were "back then," and they continue to "make us proud" today!
Years 1987-1994:  On November 4, 2001, we celebrated with alumni from Anacapa's "middle years."  Even though the fashions in the slideshow may have been different, the casual feeling on campus was the same--with an emphasis on friends, fun, and food.  It was wonderful to re-connect with this supportive group of Anacapa alums!
Years 1995-2000:  Our most recent alumni returned to campus for their reunion on Saturday afternoon, December 16, 2001.  We had fun listening to their stories of college life and the working world.  It was very gratifying to see this talented and caring group of alums, many of whom stay in contact with us and with each other via cards, letters, and e-mail.

Suzie Sichi and administrative assistant Sheryn Sears welcomed guests to campus during the celebration of the school's 20th anniversary. Martha Solodkin Klopp, Class of 1986, had fun introducing her husband and son to Anacapa friends.
Matt Wilson, Class of 1988, who enjoyed the party with his wife Tracy and son Dylan, helped plan the anniversary celebration. Brittney Powell, Class of 1998, caught up with former teacher Tony Sandrich and met Tony's son, Karl.
Dana Mosher Lewis, former teacher, traveled all the way from Oregon just to attend the 20th anniversary party and renew ties with founding students like Steve Nipper and Marcus Nelson, both Class of 1985. Nick Koonce, Class of 1988, and friend arrive in style!
Ted Deck, Class of 1983, served on the planning committee for the successful event. Amanda Gore, Class of 2001 and thus one of our newest alums at the time, attended along with Michael, who was just getting ready to begin his senior year at Anacapa.
Gordon was in heaven, greeting former students like Justin Nix, Lily Fink and Mia Hultgen, all Class of 1998, and Cielo Sichi, Class of 1995. There was even a children's activity area- thanks to the efforts of Anacapa mom (and early childhood educator) Olivia Gore pictured here Martha Solodkin Klopp's son (left) and Serena Rojas Kinchla's son (right).
