The Anacapa School is an
excellent choice for foreign students who want a high-quality college
preparatory education in a supportive school community. Our location in
downtown Santa Barbara is perfectly situated to enjoy the beauty of
Santa Barbara and its many cultural resources, all within a short
walking distance from our safe campus. Over the years, we have had
students from all over the world, including Brazil, England, Ethiopia,
Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, Thailand, and
Vietnam. Our office is SEVIS-approved to issue I-20 forms for
international students, and Anacapa is fully accredited by the Western
Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
The
deadline for applications from international students for the 2010-2011
school year, which begins September 9, is August 5.
The Anacapa School is a
day school. Our foreign students have lived in a variety of home
environments, including the homes of family relatives and local host
families. Anacapa will gladly help by suggesting host family
possibilities. The designated host family needs to be approved by the
school.
Santa Barbara is a safe
city in a beautiful location. The Anacapa School community is close-knit
with very positive relationships among students and teachers. Students
are kind, friendly, and helpful to each other. Anacapa has many guest
speakers and contacts with the Santa Barbara community. Rather than
being in a remote boarding school setting, Anacapa is located in the
heart of downtown Santa Barbara and is very connected to the larger
community. The Anacapa School utilizes the resources of Santa Barbara to
expand learning opportunities for all of our students.
Foreign students who have
graduated from The Anacapa School have earned admission to a variety of
American colleges and universities. Others have returned to their native
countries to pursue their higher education after being enriched by the
unique Anacapa School experience.

At The Anacapa School, our international students represent
more than just a window on the world. They bring us their unique
perspectives, share their life stories, and find their
potentials in the global world. In doing so, they also make us
aware of our commonality. In order to face our challenges, we
need to learn together, be human together. Knowledge of the
world is not only learned from books. So much more can be
acquired from each other. When they leave us, our international
students take with them a part of our lives here, and together
we continue growing. Over the years, The Anacapa School has
cherished the rewards of multi-cultural learning experiences and
life-long friendships. All of our students gain in discovering
that The Anacapa family strengthens the world family.
