The Synthesis Unit
The Synthesis Unit, held
each year, brings a variety of speakers to
our campus to talk about topics of interest revolving around current events. The
students will attend these talks with the goal of synthesizing the information,
allowing them to develop their own thoughts and opinions about the topics being
discussed. They will earn a grade and 2.5 units of academic credit for the
Synthesis Unit, and it will appear on both their report card and their
transcript. The grade will be based on the student's Synthesis Unit
participation, written position statement, and contributions to their team's
debate.
