Secret Santa 2007
Secret Santa is a highly anticipated event at The Anacapa School. Two weeks before Winter Break, each student, staff, and teacher draws the name of their “Secret Santee,” and for the next two weeks the Santas give their Santees small notes and gifts of appreciation. Then on the last afternoon before Winter Break, we all gather in Elliott Hall to reveal ourselves to our Santees. Each Santa shares something special about their Santee, and they give their Santee a small gift. We wait until everyone has received their gift to open all our presents at the same time. It is a great way to leave for Winter Break!
We had some wonderful performances this year for our Secret Santa activity. The Student Senate gave the traditional reading of “The Night Before Christmas.” Music also added to the festive mood as a group of students, coordinated by performing arts teacher Salli Eve, sang and danced for the celebration and music teacher Hugo Macario and his guitarists played some great songs for us.
A lot of work goes into composing the notes to our Santees. Some Santas even call home to get a funny story from their Santees’ families.
The gifts and kind words are always received with gratitude and excitement.
