Math Fair 2007
Held on the Monday evening just before Thanksgiving, Anacapa’s annual Math Fair brings the whole family together on campus to enjoy the magic, mystery, and imagination involved in the world of math. We have lots of interesting activities (in a non-threatening environment!), prizes, surprise guests, and fun for all ages. It’s a very popular family-oriented event.
Students, moms, dads, siblings, and friends begin to work right away to solve problems and earn raffle tickets for the prizes.
Some participants take their problems very seriously!
The students prove once again that math is fun!
Math super-teacher Bryan interrupts the proceedings to offer a chance to win a prize by being the first to answer an oral problem.
This year’s surprise guests were Kristen and Ella. Kristen was Anacapa’s admissions coordinator for the 2006-2007 school year until Ella was born in the summer. Anacapa students were happy to see Kristen again and to meet her beautiful, smiley daughter. Ella seemed to really enjoy the evening. We think she definitely has some math talents!
Once time is called, the seniors start to draw the winning tickets out of the prize bags.
The lucky winners—from 7th graders . . .
…to Upper Schoolers—are the ones who leave with the biggest smiles.
