Health Day 2008

On the morning of Wednesday, March 26, 2008, we had a program of speakers from the community addressing a variety of important personal health issues.

Julia Palmquist, an adoption social worker in Ventura County, came to share with us her experience working with adoptive families and birth mothers.  She provided a wonderful, compassionate perspective on this challenging topic.

Keri Gross and Grissel Granados from Planned Parenthood gave separate sex education presentations to Upper and Lower School students.  Throughout their thoughtful and informative presentations, they answered questions written by our students.

Val Winstrom from The Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse discussed the effects that drugs and alcohol have on the body.  At the end of her presentation, students tested their knowledge in a competitive game of Jeopardy!
